Frequently Asked Questions about COREtec® Floors
Can I install COREtec® myself?
Yes, you can! Our rigid planks and tiles allow for easy floating installation over many existing floors. The angle-tap installation method is user-friendly and suitable for the average DIY installer.
What tools do I need to install COREtec®?
To install COREtec®, you'll need a hammer, tapping block, and pull bar. We highly recommend using 0.635 cm (1/4-inch) spacers and a crosscut power saw with a blade suitable for plastics. Other essential supplies include a pencil, chalk line, and tape measure.
Where can I install COREtec®?
Our 100% waterproof planks and tiles can be installed in any room of your home, from the basement to the attic. COREtec® is designed for indoor use and must be stored and installed in a temperature-controlled environment (13-29°C).
Can I install COREtec® over underfloor heating and cooling?
Yes, you can. Please refer to our installation manual for detailed instructions and considerations.
Do I need to leave expansion space?
Yes, it is necessary. Although COREtec® is highly dimensionally stable, it can slightly expand and contract with temperature changes. Ensure you leave a 6 mm space next to walls and adjacent flooring to accommodate these slight movements.
Can I install COREtec® outdoors?
No, COREtec® is not designed for outdoor use. Installing it outdoors will void the product warranty.
How do I clean my COREtec® floor?
To clean your COREtec® floor, simply wipe or dry mop to remove dirt, dust, and grit. Avoid treated dust mops as they may leave a residue that can dull the floor over time. For thorough cleaning, use a pH-neutral cleaner, avoiding cleaners with polish or detergent. We recommend our COREtec® Daily Cleaner for regular maintenance and our COREtec® Deep Cleaner for periodic deep cleaning. Always vacuum or dust mop before any wet cleaning. Avoid vacuums with rotary beater bars, steam mops, and mop-and-shine products. Discover our COREtec® Cleaning Products for optimal care.
Does my COREtec® floor come with a warranty?
Yes, it does. We offer a 10-year warranty for commercial flooring and a lifetime warranty for residential flooring.
