Yes, we recommend allowing your Brecon floor to acclimatize for at least 24 hours before installation. Keep it in the same room where it will be installed, and ensure it remains within the sealed packaging to prevent warping due to temperature changes.
What condition should the subfloor be in for installing Brecon flooring?
The subfloor must be structurally sound, free from dampness, rot, fungal or insect infestation, and debris. Ensure the surface is flat with no uneven areas exceeding 3mm over a 2m span. Hot pipes should be well insulated to prevent localized hotspots that could distort the flooring.
Do I need to leave an expansion gap for my Brecon floor?
Under normal living conditions (15-25°C), no expansion gap is required. However, allow a gap of 2-3mm for Brecon floors in areas with temperature variations beyond normal living conditions, such as conservatories.
