Treatex | Hardener

Treatex Hardener is an additive that makes Treatex Hardwax Oil Ultra Clear tougher, which is useful on busy floors in shops, cafes, pubs and offices as well as hard-working family homes. It is solvent free and odour free, and it can go into one or both coats.

Treatex says its hardwax oil with hardener has been used on some of the busiest floors in Britain, including Heathrow Terminal 5 and the Natural History Museum in London, as well as in cafes, restaurants and pubs.

• Mix ratio: 1 part Hardener to 20 parts Hardwax Oil Ultra Clear (5%)
• Pack sizes: 50ml (for 1L of oil) and 125ml (for 2.5L of oil)
• Pot life: once mixed it stays usable for up to three hours
• Use: with Hardwax Oil Ultra Clear on interior timber

How to use it

Measure the hardener into the oil and stir well. The reaction cannot be stopped, and the mix will harden in the tin even with the lid on, so only mix enough for one coat at a time and use it within three hours. Then apply as normal, following the drying times for Hardwax Oil Ultra Clear.
