Treatex | R12 Anti-Slip Additive

Treatex R12 Anti-Slip is an additive for Hardwax Oil Ultra Clear that raises the slip resistance of a finished wood or cork floor to an R12 rating. It is aimed at the places where grip matters most: stairs, ramps, doorways and wet areas.

Key facts

• Pack sizes: 50g for a 1L tin of oil, 125g for a 2.5L tin
• Surfaces: all wooden and cork flooring
• Where it goes: in the second coat of Hardwax Oil Ultra Clear
• Drying: 3 to 6 hours per coat, as normal for the oil

How to use it

Put on the first coat of Hardwax Oil Ultra Clear as normal and let it dry for 3 to 6 hours. Stir the tin thoroughly before you add the R12, because the wax content settles at the bottom. Add the pre-measured pack, stir again and keep stirring while you work, then apply the second coat and leave it to dry for another 3 to 6 hours.

Treatex notes that because the coating is more resistant, the floor surface will be subject to accelerated wear. Look after it with Floor Care and refresh it with Wax Polish.
