Description
Treatex Colour Tones Ultra is a range of interior wood colours that soak into the timber rather than sitting on top, so the grain and texture still show through. They use natural pigments and are made to let you match floors, doors, stairs and worktops to the style of the room without losing the look of real wood.
The shades are Teak, Mahogany, Natural, Slate, Pebble Grey, Spruce, Chocolate, Light Oak, Medium Oak, Dark Oak, Antique Oak and Ebony. Natural is the newest and is aimed at light timbers such as oak, maple and ash. It is designed to stop the warming effect you get when clear hardwax oil goes onto pale wood, so avoid it on darker timbers like walnut.

How to use it
Sand the surface first, then roll or brush on one coat and wipe off the excess with a lint-free cloth so it dries evenly. Different timbers take stain differently, so try it on an offcut before you commit to the whole floor. Once it has dried, seal it with two coats of Hardwax Oil Ultra Clear. To speed up drying, warm the room and keep air moving with a fan or open window. Used oily cloths and rags should be laid flat to dry before you throw them away, because oils that cure can heat up and in rare cases catch fire if they are left screwed up.
