Description
Treatex Traditional Wax Polish is a solid wax made from pure natural waxes including beeswax and carnauba. It helps restore, protect and preserve treated and untreated interior timber, including softwoods, hardwoods and cork. It is a good fit for furniture, doors, panelling, beams, wooden carvings and children's toys, and it can be used over stained timber too.
The wax gives some water resistance and some protection against the drying effects of central heating. A de-aromatised, non-toxic solvent helps it go on and dry, and once that has evaporated you are left with a durable solid wax surface.
Key facts
- Colours: Clear, which has minimal impact on the colour of unfinished timber and will not fire lighter woods like oak or maple, and Dark Brown
- Pack size: 500g tin
- Preparation: clean and dust-free; sand fresh timber if needed, starting at 120 grit
- Drying: around 2 to 4 hours before polishing
- Use: interior timber only
How to use it
Apply thinly and evenly along the grain with a lint-free cloth or a brush, then polish with a cloth or brush once it is completely dry. Absorbent or previously unfinished timber may need a second application. If you are waxing over an existing finish, test a small area first to check the wax is compatible.
