Lynton can be installed over concrete, anhydrite, existing wood floor chipboard, ceramic tiles, terrazzo, metal, PVC, linoleum, slate, marble, particleboard, OSB and plywood – but not carpet. Old parquet block floors can also be problematic.

Lynton has its own integral underlay, and additional underlay should not be used.

Does my Lynton floor need to acclimatize before installing?

Yes, allow your Lynton floor to acclimatize for at least 24 hours in the room where it will be installed. Keep it in the sealed packaging to prevent warping due to temperature changes. Do not store the flooring outdoors, in an outbuilding, or in areas with dampness or condensation.

What condition should the subfloor be in?

The subfloor must be structurally sound, free from damp rot, fungal or insect infestation, and contaminating residues. It should be flat, with uneven areas not exceeding 3mm over a 2m area. Vacuum the surface thoroughly to remove all debris before installation. Insulate hot pipes to prevent localised hotspots that can distort Lynton flooring.

How do I clean my Lynton floor?

Use our cleaning kits for lacquered floors or a well-wrung damp mop to keep your Lynton floor shining.

Do I need additional underlay with my Lynton floor?

No, Lynton floors have built-in underlay. Using additional underlay can create extra bounce, potentially damaging the joints. If you need to raise the floor height, use plywood.

Is Lynton wood-effect or real wood?

Lynton floors feature a 1mm layer of European oak, giving them a real wood top layer. This makes them water-resistant rather than waterproof.

Can I use this floor with underfloor heating?

Yes, Lynton flooring is compatible with underfloor heating.

What type of joint does this floor have?

Lynton flooring uses easiloc/click-joints.

How can this floor be laid?

This floor should only be installed using the floating method.

How thick is Lynton flooring?

Lynton flooring is 7mm thick, including a 1mm wear layer of real oak.

How much should I allow for wastage?

We generally recommend allowing for 10% wastage. This can vary based on room shape, laying style, and other factors, so always consult with your installer.
