Description
Floorify Comfort Underlay is a 2mm sound-reducing underlay for Floorify click planks and tiles. Floorify measure an impact sound improvement of 21 dB (ΔLw), which is what you want in a flat, or an upstairs room where footsteps travel down to the room below. Floorify rate it above the integrated underlays found on click floors.
Comfort or Performance?
Comfort is the softer and quieter of the two underlays. Its compressive strength is 100 kPa or more, against 450 kPa or more for the Performance Underlay, so it gives a little more under foot and does more to deaden sound between floors. The Performance Underlay is the one to pick for underfloor heating, for herringbone, chevron and twist patterns, and it is the only one that qualifies for the Floorify Lifetime warranty.
Warranty
Laid over Comfort Underlay, your Floorify floor carries the 25 year residential warranty. Lifetime cover needs the Performance Underlay. Floorify's warranty also expects approved Floorify accessories and the maintenance routine in their instructions.
Underfloor heating
Floorify's data sheet says it can be used with standard heating systems in a cement screed, but not with heating film. Its thermal resistance is 0.054 m²K/W, against 0.009 m²K/W for Performance, so if heating is the priority choose Performance.
Click floors only
Use it under Floorify click planks and tiles. Glue-down (dryback) floors go straight onto the subfloor with no underlay.
