Nailing Down:
Goodrich can be secret nailed onto various timber subfloors, including solid wood flooring, plywood, OSB, particleboard, and securely adhered vinyl tile or non-cushioned resilient floors installed on a wood subfloor.

Gluing Down:
For direct gluing, Goodrich can be applied to concrete, ceramic tiles, terrazzo, metal, slate, marble, OSB, or plywood. Ensure the surface is rough or porous. Slick or sealed surfaces should be pre-sanded, especially gypsum and anhydrite screeds, to remove soft surface laitance. When gluing to concrete, use Woodpecker 11P Surface Primer for a strong bond. Gypsum or anhydrite screeds require additional preparation with Woodpecker Level-X Primer and Level-X levelling compound to remove soft surface laitance.

Floating:
A floating floor installation is suitable for concrete, anhydrite, existing wood floor chipboard, ceramic tiles, terrazzo, metal, PVC, linoleum, slate, marble, particleboard, OSB, and plywood subfloors (excluding carpet). Choose an underlay with a built-in damp-proof membrane, such as Floormate or Aquastop, based on the subfloor condition.

How do I clean my Chepstow floor?

To maintain this oiled floor's beauty, use our specially formulated cleaning liquid for oiled floors. Alternatively, a well-wrung mop with water is suitable. Avoid using steam mops or other solutions on our floors.

Does Chepstow flooring require acclimatization before installation?

Yes, we advise letting your Chepstow floor acclimatize for 3 to 4 days in the same room where it will be installed. Keep it within the sealed packaging to prevent warping due to temperature changes. Avoid storing the flooring in damp or outdoor areas.

What condition should the subfloor be in for Chepstow flooring?

Ensure the subfloor is structurally sound, free from dampness, rot, or insect infestations. It should be flat, with no uneven areas exceeding 3mm over a 2m span. Vacuum and remove any debris before installation. Insulate hot pipes to prevent localized hotspots that may affect the flooring.

How thick is Chepstow flooring?

Chepstow flooring boasts a thickness of 21mm, featuring a substantial 6mm real oak wear layer.

What expansion gaps are recommended for Chepstow flooring?

Allow for expansion gaps wherever the boards meet a wall, structural support, or transitions between rooms. Use spacers during installation and remove them before finishing with skirting boards or trims. A 2mm gap per meter span of the floor, with a minimum of 10-15mm, is advised.

What is color variation, and how should I lay planks with color variation?

Color variation is the natural variation in color that occurs in real wood. Blend planks from different packs across the room to achieve a balanced color effect.

Is Chepstow flooring compatible with underfloor heating?

Yes, Chepstow flooring is suitable for use with underfloor heating, but it must be fully adhered.

What are the installation options for Chepstow flooring?

You can choose to float, glue, or secret nail Chepstow flooring, offering flexibility in installation methods.

What type of joints does Chepstow flooring have?

We generally advise against using engineered flooring in bathrooms due to moisture exposure.

What does 'pack includes cut lengths' mean?

This indicates that at least one plank within your pack will be cut in half intentionally to distribute joints across the floor, preventing weakening. The remaining planks will be of uniform length.

How much wastage should I allow for Chepstow flooring?

We recommend allowing for 10% wastage, though this may vary based on room shape, laying style, and other factors. Always consult your installer for accurate measurements.

All Woodpecker deliveries are made either from Woodpecker's main warehouse or our store in Coleford, Gloucestershire. We keep stock of our most popular lines, so please allow up to 5 working days for standard delivery. All flooring deliveries are curb-side, meaning you will need to carry the goods into your property. Delivery Details

• Availability: If no one is available to accept your delivery at the provided address, a re-delivery charge will apply when you reschedule.
• Delivery Vehicles: Deliveries can be made in various commercial vehicles, including up to 18-tonne lorries. It is assumed that the property is easily accessible to these vehicle types.
• Access Restrictions: Flooring cannot be delivered to properties with stepped access, flats above the ground floor (regardless of lift access), or left in communal areas. For flats, orders will be left at the ground floor external doorstep. For residential properties with stepped access, flooring will be left at the bottom of the steps. Drivers may need assistance with unloading larger items. If access is likely to be a problem, please inform us at the time of order to discuss alternative delivery options.
• Doorstep Delivery: Doorstep delivery is available for lighter parcels. Depending on the courier, you will receive delivery time updates. Please leave your mobile number when checking out.

Collection and restocking charges apply to all returns. We apologise for any inconvenience caused, as this policy is determined by our suppliers. If a restocking fee is applicable to your return, we will deduct this amount from your refund. Restocking fees and collection charges are as follows:

• Flooring and door returns: Subject to a 20% restocking fee and a £50 collection charge.

Proper Packaging:
When returning items, it is crucial to ensure that they are adequately packaged to prevent damage during transit. We cannot accept items that are received in damaged condition or not packaged correctly back into our stock.

Damages and Issues:
Upon receiving your order, please inspect it promptly. If you find any defects, damages, or if you receive the wrong item, please contact us immediately. We can only send replacements if damage is reported within 24 hours of delivery.

Exceptions and Non-Returnable Items:
Please note that only regular-priced items are eligible for refunds. Unfortunately, sale items cannot be refunded.

Exchanges:
If you wish to exchange an item, the fastest way is to return the item you have and, once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item.

Refunds:
