Step 1: Prepare Your Subfloor

  • Inspect the subfloor to ensure it is level, stable, and clean.
  • Remove any existing floor coverings.

Step 2: Choose Your Underlay

  • Select the appropriate underlay for your needs, considering options suitable for underfloor heating if applicable.
  • If using LVT with attached underlay, skip this step.

Step 3: Gather Your Tools

  • Ensure you have: a hammer, vinyl-compatible saw, mouth mask, tape measure, safety glasses, bevel, tape, cleaning materials, thin rope, gloves, pencil, leveling compound, calculator, and a installation set (pull-bar, spacers, tapping block).

Step 4: Install Your Underlay

  • Roll out the underlay, pushing it against the wall and laying one row at a time in the direction you plan to lay the floor.
  • Use adhesive tape to attach rows together.
  • Skip this if your Alpha Vinyl has attached underlay.

Step 5: Lay Your Vinyl Floor

  • Measure the room's width and divide by the plank width to determine the number of full rows needed.
  • Mark the wall where the last full plank will be laid; ensure the last plank is at least 5 cm wide.
  • Unpack and mix planks to avoid repetitive patterns.
  • Start laying the first row along the longest wall, leaving a gap as walls are rarely perfectly straight.
  • Stagger the end joints of successive rows by at least 30 cm.
  • Click the first plank of each new row into the previous row and continue. Do not glue down Click Vinyl.
